Xiaomi neither denied nor confirmed the existence of the Mi Mix 2 in the past but finally after a series of speculations, the one of the top-selling smartphone maker in Asia officially confirmed the unveiling event of the Mi MIx 2. The date has been confirmed and that points to September 11 and that coincidentally 11 days from now as well.
Despite the huge amount of hype, Xiaomi kept the Mi Mix 2 under wraps and saves it for the event. However, a preview of the handset’s conceptual design straight from the original Mi Mix designer Philippe Starck showed us what to expect for the second generation Mi Mix. Early speculations also suggests that at least we are getting a 6.4-inch display with an even lesser bezels this time around. The first Mi Mix was a huge hit that other manufacturers were scrambling to make a device similar to it.
With devices going forth for the all-screen trend initiated by Xiaomi, the Chinese manufacturer is making the Mi Mix 2 and even more bezel less with more screen on the front than ever leaving just a tiny bezel at the bottom to house the front-camera camera and other bunch of stuff.
According to benchmarks, the Mi Mix 2 will have Snapdragon 835 at its heart with at least 6GB of RAM and a choice of either 128GB or 256GB of storage. Like the Mi Mix, the Mi Mix 2 won’t be having a microSD card slot which peg users with only what storage they have on board. It is also said that it might include a dual camera setup at the back and may also include a 3D facial recognition feature at its disposal. The Mi Mix 2 runs on 4,050 mAh non-removable battery and will be driven by Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) with MIUI 9 on top out of the box.
