Together with the announcement of the new Xiaomi 17 Ultra, the Chinese tech giant also unveiled the Xiaomi Watch 5. Like its predecessors, the new wearable features a round watch face design and a set of upgraded features that offer more functionality.
The new smartwatch comes with a 1.54-inch AMOLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate, a 480 × 480 pixel resolution, and up to 1,500 nits of peak brightness, ensuring excellent readability even under direct sunlight.

Protecting the display is an artificial sapphire crystal glass, which also covers the bottom of the device. The watch body is made of stainless steel, measures about 12.3mm thick, and weighs approximately 56g without the strap. It carries a 5ATM rating for water resistance, allowing it to withstand harsher conditions.
The Xiaomi Watch 5 runs on a dual-chip architecture, featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 SoC paired with a Hengxuan 2800 low-power chipset. It is powered by Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 and backed by a large 930mAh battery. Xiaomi claims up to six days of battery life under normal usage, which can extend up to 18 days in power-saving mode.
In terms of connectivity, the smartwatch supports Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, and there is also a variant that supports eSIM.

For health and fitness tracking, the Xiaomi Watch 5 is equipped with a wide range of sensors, including continuous heart rate monitoring, ECG, SpO₂ tracking, stress monitoring, and sleep tracking. It also supports more than 150 sports modes and offers offline map support.
The ECG sensor can also be used for additional functions such as answering calls, dismissing alarms, controlling the camera remotely, managing music playback, and even navigation through hand muscle signal detection.
Available in Black and Silver color options, Xiaomi also offers a selection of watch straps, including rubber, leather, and a 3D-printed titanium alloy strap.

As for pricing, the Xiaomi Watch 5 retails for CNY 1,999 (around US$285) and comes with a standard rubber strap. The eSIM variant is priced at CNY 2,299 and includes a leather strap. The 3D-printed titanium alloy strap is sold separately for CNY 799 (around US$110) and is available in both black and silver to match the watch chassis.
