In a silent and soft but a significant unveiling from Xiaomi’s official Thai forum on Mi.com, the Chinese first showed off the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro. The new handset is the company’s first device with 4 AI cameras with both dual sensor on the front and back.
The new Redmi Note 6 Pro, takes its design cues almost from all of its devices in recent memory. It has a large 6.26-inch IPS LCD display with full-HD+ resolution and 500nits of brightness. It is then covered by a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass on top. Xiaomi also uses a notch for the new handset which houses the earpiece and the front-facing sensors which will bring us to the next topic below.
With the notch on the display, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro includes a dual sensors on the front which comprises a 20 Megapixel camera with f/2.0 Aperture paired to a 2 Megapixel depth sensor.
More about the camera, the main camera module is in dual configuration as well with a 12 Megapixel primary shooter and features an f/1.9 Aperture lens with Dual Pixel Phase Detection AutoFocus and a 5 Megapixel depth sensor. Both dual camera modules is supported by AI with features likes scene detection, facial recognition and such.
Powering the device is a Snapdragon 636 chipset from Qualcomm together with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage or a 3GB/32GB RAM and storage combo. It then has a microSD support through its hybrid dual SIM tray which takes up to 256GB of microSD cards.
It runs MIUI 10 based on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with 4000 mAh embedded battery and promises up to 6 hours of gaming and 8 hours of continuous video playback.
The new Redmi Note 6 Pro will be available in these color options: Black, Blue and Rose Gold. Prices starts at 6,900 Baht, which translates around $214. In Thailand, if you pre-order the new Redmi Note 6 Pro, you’ll get either a free Mi Selfie stick, Mi Wi-Fi repeater or get a free Mi Band 2.
