Where almost all users were starting to get really disappointed for the recent delays, Xiaomi without a warning rolled out the March 2018 security patch for the Xiaomi Mi A1. Users will most certainly get prompted for the available update with a little surprising notice, while the notification prompt shows March 2018 correctly for the update, the update window says otherwise and it seems that the quality control team behind the Mi A1 update is playing an early April Fools day with users, probably not intentional though but still very funny Xiaomi.

Anyways, the update will give you the March 01, 2018 security patch with all the security improvements and bug fixes as usual. The update is 440.0 MB in size, so one would really have to consider downloading the update through a Wi-Fi network if you’re mobile data connection are capped.

For users who haven’t received the update as of late, you’d want to launch your Settings app and head over to System > System Update and tap Check for update. On the side note, users who installed GCam with root privileges are reporting to have successfully installed the update without a hitch and in terms of the usual user woes with the battery draining issue from last month’s update, they all looked like to have been fixed but we are still observing about it and we’ll find out more in the next few days.
