Xiaomi refreshes the Mi Mix 3 with 5G and Snapdragon 855

Looks like the Mi 9 isn’t the only 5G enabled handset that Xiaomi is going to market this year. At and event in Barcelona, Xiaomi introduced a refreshed version of its famous Mi Mix 3 now with 5G connectivity and an updated processor.

Xiaomi uses the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset for the Mi Mix 3 refresh along with Qualcomm’s X50 modem for its 5G radio. The setup includes 6GB of RAM and 128GB of non-expandable storage. This will not just make things faster or make the graphics smoother on the handset but to make a whole new experiences for users.

Besides these new updates, the updated Mi Mix 3 is basically the same as it was launched late last year with a sliding mechanism for its dual Selfie camera that comprises a 24MP primary and a 2MP depth sensor. On the back is a dual main camera sensors with one being the
12MP primary imaging sensor paired with another 12MP sensor with a Telephoto lens.

The materials used on the smartphone remains basically the same with a Corning Gorilla Glass front, an aluminum frame and a Ceramic back. It will be available this coming May in either Onyx Black or Sapphire Blue.

With better hardware, Xiaomi push the price for the new Mi Mix 3 a bit higher than it used to with a $599 price tag.
