Xiaomi Mi 11 launched globally

The Xiaomi flagship Mi 11 has been around for weeks that is we’d count its presence when it becomes official in China, but today the company is bringing the new Mi 11 to the global market. With the new announcement, there are also a few subtle changes to the specs that turns out to be just great.

Like the Chinese variant, the global Mi 11 is also focused on imaging with its 108 Megapixel main camera together with a secondary 13 Megapixel Ultra Wide sensor and a 5 Megapixel Telemacro lens. The front on the other hands has 20 Megapixel Selfie camera.

During the presentation, Xiaomi highlights the nifty cinematic effects available on the Mi 11 as well as its photo editing features will professional-grade quality.

The handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 but its only available with 8GB of RAM while storage comes with either 128GB or 256GB. One notable omission is the 12GB/256GB configuration which is available on the Chinese version of the handset.

The display is a 6.81-inch AMOLED panel with a QHD+ resolution having a 120Hz refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate and support for HDR10+. There’s also a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus both on the front and back which serves to protect the device from occasional scratches.

Feature-wise, the new Mi 11 comes with Harman-Kardon tuned stereo speakers and supports bluetooth audio connection. What seems to be new here though is that Xiaomi confirmed its built-in Heart-rate monitor into the in-display fingerprint scanner which is kind of a surprise.

Xiaomi also reiterated that the new Mi 11 doesn’t come with a standard inbox charger but instead include a 55W GaN charger to charge its 4,600 mAh battery. Do note though that the Mi 11 also supports 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.

The new Xiaomi Mi 11 global variant will be available for 749 Euros for the 128GB variant and 799 Euros for the 256GB version. Pre-order starts on February 26 and will be shipped by March.
