Xiaomi Arch could be the curved-display device that you’ve been waiting for

Curved display on mobile devices isn’t gold a standard in a handset at the moment as mostly just a proof of concept until Samsung has recently made it into a consumer product with the new Galaxy Note Edge. Since then, people are wondering if the design is worth investing in or will there be a market for such device’s today. Though a number of consumers have already gained traction, critics and experts alike still argues with its potential especially that there are some flaws in the design that greatly hinder its practicality and ergonomics.

Apparently while everyone’s bashing or praising the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, in China however, things are a little bit different. As if a one-sided curved display isn’t be enough, Xiaomi is reportedly working on a dual-curved edges display with each mimics that from a Samsung Note Edge. Revealed from a poster, The said device would be called the Xiaomi Arch and it would be a world’s first dual-curved screen device. These two curved edges will house a number of notifications, controls and quick launch apps on one side while on the other is presumably where latest news updates, stock prices, flash reports through widgets or compatible apps. There are a number of possibilities that Xiaomi could work on the device if it goes into an actual consumer product.

It seems that the Xiaomi Arch at the moment is purely a concept but who knows as the device might just have been already available for testing and that the poster is just a proof that the device is nearly at its imminent release. There’s still no word on its possible specs and features so keep an eye as we gather more information about the device ahead.
