Microsoft’s new Windows 11 just got announced last week and the anticipation among users rose to new heights, that is at least to those who are system ready. According to the Redmond giant, the upcoming OS is set to rollout this coming holiday season.
While Microsoft didn’t exactly pointed out the exact date of the rollout, but experts believed that Windows 11 could be launched as early as October 20. This came after Microsoft’s marketing images showed October 2020 on its Windows 11 screenshots.
Here, a screengrab showing an MS Teams message from Stevie Bathiche from MS Surface to MS head of Windows’s devices Panos Panay where it mentioned “can’t wait for October”. Though it’s unclear whether Bathiche hints for a new Surface device or the Windows 11 launch, what’s definite though is that either of these will make it out by October.
Marketing images from Microsoft as shown below all showed a Windows 11 desktop with a 10/20/21 dates on the taskbar which further fuel the anticipation.
Apart from these hinting images, Walmart also promises a “free Upgrade to Windows October 2021 when available” for its existing laptop offerings.
Microsoft is yet to finalize its definite system requirements for Windows 11 with millions of existing PC threatened an eminent obsolesce when the operating system finally hit compatible devices. Users with existing capable hardware yet rendered incompatible for Windows 11 are pressuring Microsoft for a consideration. Will Redmond give in, or force users to upgrade their hardware as the only option to get the new OS.
