Vivo to unveil the new Selfie-centric V7-series in Mumbai on September 07

It is the time of the year that companies makes major announcements for new products and services, tech giant Samsung already made their mark with the unveiling of the new Galaxy Note8, LG is also expected to announce another flagship device towards the end of the month as well as Apple with their alleged 10th anniversary iPhone release. Vivo fans on the other hand will have the same treatment from their favorite manufacturer in a couple of weeks.

Earlier this year, Vivo fans were hooked into the latest Vivo V5-series handsets which focusses mainly on Selfies, three quarters later, Vivo will unveil the successor of the V5’s with the company’s new Vivo V7-series of devices. Like the device that came before it, the V7-series are also Selfie-centric devices. The company already save the date on September 7 in Mumbai in India.

“Get ready to Capture: Clear Shot, Clear Moment” slogan dominated the invitation which tells us that Selfie is one of the main focus here. further down below, a line that reads: “Redefine the selfie experience with the revolutionary selfie camera” which further tells us that besides the focus on Selfies, Vivo will also bring improvements perhaps to the camera hardware itself. Though Vivo isn’t really particular as of yet but we’re guessing that their will be a dual camera sensors dedicated for Selfies which is something similar to the V5’s.

What’s really striking about the image is the fairly thin bezels of the handset portrayed on the back. Rumors has it that the Vivo V7 will feature a display similar to Samsung’s “Infinity display” or LG’s “FullVision Display”. The way the device is presented seems to favor the latter than the former and it is said to be a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen with full HD resolution with the highly noticeably thin bezels.

Under the hood, the Vivo V7 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC paired with 6GB of RAM and at least 128GB of internal storage. Running the show would be Vivo’s proprietary FunTouchOS 2.6 based on Android 7.0 (Nougat). Keeping the lights running is a 3500mAh embedded battery.
