DotA has been popular since the early years of its inception more than a decade ago as it started as simply as a mod from Blizzards Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and Warcraft III: Frozen Throne and with each succeeding revisions, the popular online game has become the most massive unsupported online battle arena spawning a lot of fans, teams and enthusiasts which help developed the game. Over time as development was handed over from a number of developers, video game developer Valve hired DotA current developer IceFrog and developed a standalone sequel with DotA 2 which was released in July 9. 2013.

As game development moved forward, Valve has announced a new installment of game DotA 2: Reborn which will depart from DotA and DotA 2’s widely common interface with a massive technical overhaul starting with the game’s engine up to the last bit of its interface. As speculated by many, Valve will be using Source 2 engine, a successor to Valve’s legacy engine that was used in Half-life 2 ten years ago.

With the new game engine at hand, is expected to boost speed and performance to DotA 2: Reborn. Aside from the under the hood improvements, Valve will also bring the biggest change in user interface for DotA which will overhaul the entirety of the interface from ground up and will make it easier to find friends, watch games from friends, other players and watch tournaments with DotA 2: Reborn‘s built-in streaming and stat-tracking feature. The new interface also features an improved chat system which will allow players to communicate while within the game.

Seeing the game’s popularity, Valve is also introducing new training tools for DotA 2: Reborn including instant hero tryout, guided bot games and more. The game itself is now standing as a stand-alone product with its beta client expected to become available sometime this week. The game characters will still be the same though which will make DotA players happy but in order to play the game, users will have to install DotA 2: Reborn beta client separately from DotA 2 and start to experience the whole new and improved DotA 2: Reborn.
