The new and upcoming BlackBerry Z20 codename: Rio was revealed to the netizens. The Z20 takes a cue from the canceled project “Manitoba” which was supposedly a Z3 LTE with upgraded specs and is positioned to compete with other devices in the mid-range market.
The Z20: Rio is an all-touch mid-range handset designed for professionals who would want to utilize BlackBerry’s latest features and innovations and let users enjoy the experience of the latest mainstream technologies without a compromising cost.
With the BlackBerry Z20: Rio specs revealed, the handset will feature a 5-inch 720p display and will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 with 1.5 GHz Krait CPU and 2 GB of system RAM. There’s also a 16 GB internal storage plus a micro-SD slot for memory expansion. It has a 8-Megapixel camera on the back and a 2-Megapixel camera on the front which should be enough for high-resolution video calls or perhaps a self-portrait photos.
Communication isn’t an option but a must and so BlackBerry equipped the Z20 with penta-band 4G LTE connectivity in addition to 3G and GSM network connections. Other connectivity options includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 with DLNA and Miracast, a dual microphone setup with a standard loudspeaker.
Packed in a 9.5 mm profile, the BlackBerry Z20 will include a 2800 mAh non-removable battery and is anticipated to run the latest version of the BlackBerry 10 OS.
The BlackBerry Z20 is expected to debut on February 2015 and will be available in Black or White with a price of not more than $300.00.
