The Department of Health (DOH) released COVID-19 Daily Bulletin No. 116 for July 08, 2020 at 9:00 PM. This bulletin reports a total of 2,539 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 with details down below:
Fresh Cases: 1,922 (NCR: 883 / Region 7: 369 / Others: 670)
Late Cases: 617 (NCR: 183 / Region 7: 74 / Others: 360)
With these numbers together with yesterday’s figure, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country leaps to 50,359 with a Death toll of 1,314 after it reports 6 new deaths.
This bulletin also reports 202 new recoveries, which makes our total number of recoveries to 12,588.
With all these figures calculated, the Philippines is currently having a total of 36,457 officially recorded active COVID-19 cases.

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 as a Pandemic on March 03, 2020 which started in Wuhan, China. The disease is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome – coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) with a Flu like symptoms such as Fever, Cough, Colds and in more severe cases Difficulty in Breathing.

As the world awaits for a vaccine for COVID-19, the only way to protect ourselves from getting infected is to practise proper and frequent handwashing, avoid touching our face, mouth, nose and eyes. Our health experts as well as the government urged everyone to wear a suitable and effective face mask as often as possible and when outside of our homes.
