The trend continues as more and more COVID-19 cases are reported in the Philippines

DOH released COVID-19 CASE BULLETIN #66 at 16:00H (4:00PM PST) on May 19, 2020.

The Department of Health reports 224 new cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines with the total confirmed cases now at 12,942. the health agency also reports 114 new recoveries and that brings us to a total of 2,843 recorded recoveries against the dreaded disease.

The country never misses out a day without fatalities and today we have 6 new deaths which brings our death toll at 837.


COVID-19 was declared by World Health Organization (WHO) as a Pandemic on March 03, 2020 which started in Wuhan, China. The disease is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome – coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) with a Flu like symptoms such as Fever, Cough, Colds and in more severe cases Difficulty in Breathing.

There are no vaccines or direct cure for the disease at the moment and the only way to protect ourselves from getting infected is to practise proper and frequent handwashing, avoid touching our face, mouth, nose and eyes. Our health experts as well as the government urged everyone to wear a suitable and effective face mask as much as possible and when outside of our homes.
