After TENAA and other certification agencies, the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016) recently dropped by at the FCC for the US certification which also supplied us with what was missing on earlier documents from other certification agencies. We’ve already had information about the processor and RAM information about the upcoming handset with all other bits along the way but there were no mention of the handset’s battery or anything that talks about it.

Thanks to FCC approval in the US, we now have a definite answer to everyone’s question: How big or how capable is the battery would be on the next Galaxy A7? FCC tells us that the upcoming handset will have and upgraded battery pack. This year’s Galaxy A7 came with a 2600 mAh battery while its successor the SM-A7100 also known as the Galaxy A7 (2016) would sport a larger 3300 mAh battery which will enable users to do more with their device before going to the wall outlet.

This new information then filled-out one of the missing pieces of its specs sheet. Earlier leaks from TENAA supplied us with these information which gave us a glimpse of what we are going to get with the next version of the Galaxy A7: 1080p 5.5-inch OLED display, 8-core processor running at 1.7 GHz with 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of expandable storage. Other notable features includes a 13 Megapixel back and a 5 Megapixel front camera. 4G/LTE Cat. 4 primary wireless network connectivity together with 3G/HSPA+ and 2G/GSM plus a handful of other connectivity features including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, USB 2.0 and GPS.

The Galaxy A7 SM-A7100 runs on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) out of the box but we’re expecting it to have its own Android 6.0 Marshmallow update after its release. With its 3300 mAh battery, the handset measures 151.5 × 73.95 × 6.95 mm and is a bit narrower than its predecessor and weighs 155 grams. Aside from the SM-A7100 model, the FCC also approves other variants of the Galaxy A7 2016 with model numbers SM-A710S, SM-A710K and SM-A710L.

Samsung hadn’t made any official announcement as of yet in regards to the next generation Galaxy A7 but given the handset’s busy walk through on different certifications and certain market approvals, we are expecting the handset to become official soon and be available thereafter.
