The real Nokia to come back into the mobile phone business pretty soon to start Connecting People once again

Undoubtedly, Nokia is one of the leaders in the mobile industry who shifted the market from feature phones to what we know today as the smartphone. But the shift that Nokia started earlier gave other companies to create their own version and platform for a smartphone device which opened doors for Apple for create a better version of the smartphone of their own with several aggregation of technologies available at the time when the first iPhone was introduced in the market.

Indeed, the competing product that Apple has created boomed and users began shifting their focus into a full touch screen interface provided by the iPhone instead of the tradition physical keypads and keyboards available on Nokia devices. Other companies also adopted the concept of a full touch screen interface while Nokia stick with what’s working best for them in those days. It was then too late for Nokia when they finally adopted a full touch screen interface that was powered by the aging Symbian operating system.

By the end of the first decade of the 21st century, Nokia began taking other ventures to other potential operating system which the company then partnered with Intel and unveiled the MeeGo operating system based on Linux that powered the Nokia N9 and the short-lived Nokia N950. When former Microsoft employee Stephen Elop became the CEO of Nokia, the company shifted its focus from Linux-based MeeGo OS into Microsoft’s own mobile operating system Windows Phone Mobile with the introduction of the Lumia series of Devices.

As the development of the Lumia series and the narrowing margin of feature phone in the market. Nokia then sold its mobile division to Microsoft which was then comprising mainly the rights to produce and market the Nokia Lumia series and feature phones driven by Nokia’s own S30 operating system under the Microsoft flag which was completed in 2014. The agreement forced Nokia as a company to not engaged in a competition in any way under the Nokia label in the mobile phone market until it ends by the second half of 2016.

Now as the deal nears its end. Nokia announced that it’s coming back to the mobile phone business and recently announced that its forming a child company HMD global Oy, a company founded in Finland, Nokia’s hometown and will be headed by Arto Nummela as CEO who is also a ex-Nokia top senior executive and is currently one of the top managing employees at Microsoft’s Mobile division.Nokia will then direct and set the standards for performance and brand requirements needed to deliver what customers could expect from a Nokia device including the quality, design and the innovation and technologies to include when creating a consumer product.

Apart from the newly born company, FIH Mobile Limited a subsidiary of Foxconn, the makers of the highly notable mobile devices in the market is set to acquire the rights to produce future Nokia feature phones from Microsoft for$ 350 million. Additionally, FIH Mobile Limited will also acquire the Microsoft Mobile wing in Vietnam which is responsible for producing Nokia feature phones along with its 4,500 employees on board.

With FIH Mobile Limited acquisition of future Nokia feature phone rights at hand, Nokia then signs an agreement with the acquiring company to “Establish a collaboration framework to support the building of a global business for Nokia-branded mobile phones and tablet.”

Though the wheels have started to turn once again for the company’s comeback in the mobile phone industry, Nokia admits that it still has a lot of work to do with HMD and that would mean that Nokia fans and enthusiasts, despite the long absence of the company in the marker will have to wait a bit longer until Nokia could finally set up the standards that users deserves for the new and upcoming Nokia phones, smartphones and tablet devices.
