The new Redmi K30S goes official: flagship SD865 chipset, 144Hz display
Xiaomi’s Redmi sub-brand is all about affordability even those with flagship specs and the newly announced Redmi K30S continue to make that tradition.
Basically, the new Redmi K30S is a rebranded version of the Mi 10T and this isn’t surprising to Xiaomi devices either as the practice has been going on for a long time.
To describe both the Redmi K30S and Mi 10T, we have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 that’s ticking on-board but they differ in memory configuration as the K30S ships with 8GB of RAM and its storage can either have a 128GB or a hefty 256GB on board.
The display is an IPS Panel measuring at 6.67-inches but comes with an awesome 144Hz refresh rate. It comes with a Full-HD+ display and 20:9 Aspect ratio, the display also comes with a tiny punch hole that houses a 20 Megapixel camera. To help protect against scratches, the Redmi K30S is covered with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 both the front and back.
For imaging, the Redmi K30S features a 64 Megapixel primary camera on the back with a 13 Megapixel Ultra Wide sensor and a 5 Megapixel macro camera.
You won’t need to worry about battery life on the Redmi K30S as it packs a 5,000 mAh battery and it even supports a 30W fast charging.
Other key features on the new K30S is 5G connectivity, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, stereo speakers and a side-mounted fingerprint reader.
The new Redmi K30S is available in Black and Silver color options with price starting at at CNY2,599 ($390) for the 128GB model and CNY2,799 ($415) for its 256GB variant. It will be sold in China with pre-orders to start in four days. There will also be a flash sale on schedule for November 11 in line with the country’s biggest shopping holiday.
