The new Meizu M3 goes official with newer chipset and is now available in two configurations

Entry-level market is one of the highest grossing segment in the mobile market and mobile phone manufacturers are using that advantage for profit. Meizu has a number of devices with high-end features but apart from the usual flagship devices, the Chinese company is also known to bring affordable handsets to the masses packed with features. With that, the company has always updated its portfolio of affordable devices with the latest Meizu M3. If you’ve heard the M3 Note, is already affordable and is coming our way but the M3 also has something to hold on its own and is even more affordable than its bigger sibling.

The new Meizu M3 comes with a 5.0-inch 720p IPS LCD Display and is laminated by a 2.5D glass front. Compared from its successor, the new M3 is also on a polycarbonate shell but with a slightly broader footprint with a dimensions of 141.5 x 69.5 x 8.3mm and weighs around 132 grams. The handset is equipped with a larger 2,870 mAh non-removable battery that’s a fraction of an upgrade from M2’s 2500 mAh power pack.

Ticking inside this handset is a MediaTek MT6750 SoC with an 8-core Cortex-A53 processors having four cores running at 1.5 GHz and another 4 four cores running at 1.0 GHz. While its predecessors comes with only one variant, the new M3 will be available in two with two different configurations based on RAM and storage, one is equipped with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage combination and a second variant will have 3GB of RAM and a larger 32GB of storage, both variants will have a microSD slot ready to accept your microSD storage expansion cards.

For mobile photography, the new M3 shouldn’t disappoint any as it comes with a 13 Megapixel camera unit and features an f/2.2 aperture and a phase detection autofocus, there’s also a dual-tone LED flash to keep things at view in low light conditions. For users that loves Selfies, the M3 is equipped with a high-resolution 5 Megapixel camera with a f/2.0 aperture that takes more light for a better Selfies.

Connectivity-wise, the Meizu M3 supports 4G, 3G and GSM wireless networks. Apart from these, the handset also comes with a full set of other connectivity options including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS support.

The handset is already available in China with prices that starts at CNY 599 for the 2GB/16GB variant and CNY 799 for the 3GB/32GB model. International available is still in question but should become available to other key Meizu markets sometime soon, but for fans that want’s to get their hands on the handset anyway can have then through online purchases.
