Since the advent of portable devices, device memory have been the most important aspect of these new world devices and as technology improves everyday so does our need to store more information. Mobile phones and related devices has been one of the main markets that users are requiring more storage space and since it becomes a norm in our daily lives, there must be a way to make these devices a little more convenient than we had years ago.

With the new technologies that we have today, companies such as Sandisk who’s one of the world leaders in mobile storage industry brings a new breed of microSD cards. The company found a way to move up the capacities of microSD cards using a proprietary design to crammed more bits of memory in a thumb size memory chip. Sandisk calls its new type of microSD card as the 200GB MicroSDXC UHS-I Card Premium Edition and as the name suggests, it comes with a whopping 200GB of available storage space that can hold up to 20 hours of full-HD movies and is rated Class-10 for a full-HD video recording performance with a 90MB/sec transfer rate (about 1,200 images per minute).

The new MicroSDXC card are also durable and can withstand just about any conditions, so much so that Sandisk built their new high-capacity memory chips being water proof, temperature proof, shock proof, X-Ray proof and magnet proof to protect your highly valuable data from being lost forever. Users of the new MicroSDXC will also have peace of mind with Sandisk exclusive 10-year limited warranty.

However, the introduction of the new micoSD means that existing devices and the most recently announced devices at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 doesn’t support the new memory chip with today’s mobile devices are equipped with memory slots that supports up to 128 GB microSD cards max, but since Sandisk has already spilled the beans, it won’t be long for device manufacturers to support such cards and eventually we’ll see devices coming out in the next few months or by next year supporting the new capacity microSD card.

The new Ultra Capacity chips however don’t come cheap as Sandisk has already put up the introductory price of their new microSD chip closely at $400 and that’s roughly around 17,600 Php or just about the same price between a mid-end or high-end mobile phones. But considering the amount of storage space the miniature chip is capable with, our experts believe that it was just and fairly understandable at the moment. The new 200GB microSD card will be available in the second quarter of the year and will come with an accompanying SD Adapter for use in MIL cameras or just about on any SD compatible devices.
