Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Flip3 is a fresh coat of paint and an improved performance

Along with the new Galaxy Z Fold3 flagship device, Samsung also unveiled another foldable screen device at the recently concluded Samsung Galaxy UNPacked event and that is the Galaxy Z Flip3.

The new Galaxy Z Flip3 is another device in the Galaxy Z series which like its predecessor, it flips up and down instead of sides ways. It works similar to the clamshell phones of yesteryears with modern display. It comes with some new enhancements over the Galaxy Z Flip2 and mostly for performance boosts.

To start off, the new Galaxy Z Flip3 gets a much larger cover display at 1.9-inch and its a Super AMOLED panel. It functions best for showing notification and has gotten more supports from apps and even works even better as a camera viewfinder.

Flipping up the phone, you’ll be greeted by its 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and comes in Full-HD+ resolution. This display though is the same that is used on the Flip2 and because it just works, so we can’t say it’s a bad thing.

Working with cameras, the Galaxy Z Flip3 gets its hardware from the Galaxy Z Flip2 with the same 10MP sensor on the main display that resides inside a punch hole. For the main cameras, the new devices has a dual 12MP sensors that now lined up vertically.

The biggest improvements it got this year is that it now runs on Snapdragon 888 SoC with support for 5G connectivity both Sub6 and mmWave. It comes with 8GB of RAM and a fast UFS 3.1 storage between 128GB and 256GB.

The handset’s external feature is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and its frame from Samsung’s new Armor Aluminum that supports IPX8 water resistance similar to the Galaxy Z Fold3.

The new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 runs the latest Android 11 OS out of the box with One UI on top. Its battery is rated at 3,300 mAh that supports 15W charging.

Like the Galaxy Z Fold3, the Galaxy Z Flip3 also has its own set of new accessory support including colorful cases and straps. Even the device itself features a selection of inbox colors including Phantom Black, Gray, White, Cream, Green, Pink and Lavender.

The new Galaxy Z Flip3 is now available for pre-order with price starting at 1,049 Euros and up to 1,099.
