Samsung UNPacked event: Galaxy Note 4 Edge unveils new curve display, new approach
We’ve already been informed that the Galaxy Note 4 will have 2 variants up in its sleeve and indeed today at Samsung’s UNPacked event, the South Korean tech giant just announced the new Galaxy Note 4 Edge. The Note 4 variant that brings the youm concept to reality. Youm was a prototype device featured at CES 2013 that sport a curved display similar on the one found on the new Galaxy Note 4 Edge. A year and a half later, who would have thought that Samsung will finally mass produce this type of design. It was really something out of the ordinary and is the first that Samsung has brought out a curved on the edge display for smartphone devices.
As it lines up with the new Flagship, the Galaxy Note 4 Edge is a flagship in itself. Coming as part of the Note series, The Note 4 Edge features every bit the flagship Note 4 has,the difference in spec’s between the two Note devices is barely noticeable and even users may not be able to tell the differences besides the display difference. The curve edge display on the new Note 4 Edge enables Samsung to further customized its user interface to make use of the new display, showing a whole new notifications window and a list of quick launch apps are just a few that the new Galaxy Note 4 Edge display has to offer.
Like the Galaxy Note 4, the Note 4 Edge also feature an exposed metal side strip which shows the frame, this has taken Samsung devices to a whole new level and design language. Bonded on the metal frame is the 5.6-inch sAMOLED display with QHD resolution. This Note 4 variant unlike it’s larger sibling will carry one type of processor and it will be the 2.7GHz Quad-core CPU, 3GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage options. There is a microSD slot as well for users who want to expand their storage space for an additional 64 GB capacity microSD cards.
It carries the same stuff from the Galaxy Note 4 from having Android 4.4 (KitKat) out of the box to the cameras, as well as connectivity options, but on the Note 4 Edge, this device comes only with a 3,000 mAh battery. Though the Galaxy Note 4 and the Note 4 Edge may have different battery capacities, they are surely going to sustain for every demanding task that you could throw in the device.
