Samsung resumes Oreo update for the Galaxy S8 series handsets

Last weekend, Samsung had to halt its Android Oreo update for the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ due to a reported bug by those who have updated their devices. Well now guess what,  Samsung resumes the update roll out via OTA in some areas where one of which that got them first is in Germany. Like what we have said previously, Samsung could be working on a whole new firmware to hopefully eradicate its initial problems.

And indeed that seems to be the case. These new OTA updates bares a version sequence of G950FXXU1CRB7 and G955XXU1CRB7 for the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ respectively and they are in an average size of 530MB at least for those who were able to update their devices from the previous rollout. In the case for those who haven’t yet moved to Oreo, expect this file size to double as it takes along with it the whole Oreo upgrade.

The first roll out was spotted initially in Germany but we are also looking forward to see in other markets gradually as Samsung rolled out the update in Phases depending on their region.
