Now that the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has officially announced the recall for all Galaxy Note7 units sold before September 15 2016, Samsung is putting up a site for Galaxy Note7 owners to check their devices if it needs to participate in the recall program.

Samsung is urging all Galaxy Note7 users to turn off the handset and head over to the nearest Samsung service center or to where they purchased their handset for a free replacement of the unit.

The procedure is simple, all you need to do is key in your device IMEI or Serial number on the prompt provided in page and hit the Check button, a message would appear below telling you the things you need to do next, otherwise you should be safe with your device if it has already been exchanged with a replacement unit.

To check your IMEI:

  • You can check them on your Galaxy Note7 packaging box.
  • Through your device: Dial *#06# or go to Settings >About Phone >Status >IMEI Information
