Earlier this month during the Samsung Analyst Day, Samsung’s Display division CEO Kinam Kim unveiled their company’s plans for 2014 to produce smartphones with a high pixel density sAMOLED displays that goes up to 560 pixel per inch (ppi). It is said that it would cater smartphone displays with as low as 5-inch in size.

Along with the news, with a possible early introduction of the next GALAXY S series devices, the Korean tech giant may incorporate the high resolution displays to its GALAXY S5 smartphones as the first device to feature such high-end displays. Early rumors also suggests the possibility of the next generation of Samsung’s tablet devices to include such high pixel density displays with the same display treatment as its smartphone cousins.

With the advancement of display technologies, that would be worth the wait if Samsung will push through its early plans for next year, which would also bring a new standard in smartphones and tablets display.
