Samsung officially announced the new Galaxy Tab A 10.1-inch variant, available this June
Samsung adds another device to the Galaxy Tab A family with a new 10.1-inch model. Just a couple of days ago, a leaked data about the new tablet went online though we didn’t cover that story, Samsung officially unveiled the tablet to the market a day after. Though it seems like the specific model wouldn’t sport the much celebrated S Pen, it will be a forerunner on multimedia entertainment and productivity suites with its large screen.
Its large display is a 10.1-inch in size and comes on PLS (Plane to Line Switching) display technology – a Samsung’s own version of the usual IPS display. under the hood is an Octa-core processors infused chipset that runs at 1.6 GHz. Though not being mentioned in the press release but experts believed is Samsung’s own Exynos 7870 SoC based on Cortex-A53. Its processing power is supported by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage with an option to expand its built-in storage space for another 200GB more through a microSD cards.
Though it isn’t always the case but some users are also using their tablets conveniently for taking photos and videos and to help user do that, Samsung includes an 8 Megapixel main shooter with f/1.9 aperture at the back but mind that it doesn’t come with an LED flash or some sort so users will have to rely basically on the ambient light that is available in the environment. Upfront is a basic 2 Megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture which should work more than enough on high-resolution video calls and some casual Selfies.
One of the highlights with the new tablet is that is runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow right out of the box with Samsung’s default user interface on top and is supported by a large 7300 mAh embedded battery. It measures 155.3 x 254.2 x 8.2mm and weighs around 525 grams.
The tablet will be available in two variants as usual with a Wi-Fi only version which cost around 289 euros and an LTE+Wi-Fi variant at 349 euros. The Galaxy Tab A 10.1-inch is currently launched in Germany which should also become available in some parts of Europe beginning of June with a choice between Black or White color options.
