Samsung made the new Galaxy J8 official in the Philippines, gets priced

In addition to the vast amount of devices that Samsung puts out in the market every now and then, the South Korean tech giant is again handing over a new handset to add in its ever-increasing portfolio. The new Galaxy J8,  a mid-range of the company’s entry-level series of devices with the same familiar look as its recently released cousins along with a number of new features that made its way from Samsung’s more premium line to the mass market Galaxy J series.

With the handset being unveiled just recently, the new Galaxy J8 is now officially launched by Samsung in the Philippines and will be available from Samsung’s official retail stores and partner outlets across the country with a suggested retail price of 15,990Php beginning the 4th of August.

Pre-order of the handset will be available starting on July 21st and for those who takes advantage of the early bird offer will get a 1,000Php Cash back with freebies including a screen protector, JBL Clip Bluetooth speaker and a very useful Screen Insurance Policy for the clumsies.

The new Samsung Galaxy J8 comes with a large 6-inch AMOLED display and features a modern 18:9 Aspect ratio but one user should note is that is only have a 720p+ resolution. Not a bad thing though as it eats lesser on the battery that higher resolution displays.

It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset and comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage which can accept up to 256GB of microSD cards.

The handset is equipped with dual cameras on its main module on the back. This includes a 16 Megapixel primary sensor and a 5 Megapixel depth sensor with LED flash. On the front side, it comes with a single 16 Megapixel Selfie shooter and also comes equipped with its own front-facing LED flash.

Everything else comes as standard, including a 4G LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS support, a fingerprint scanner on the back and of course a 3.5mm audio jack for music lovers.
