Samsung launched the new Samsung Health Monitor app with Blood Pressure monitoring feature
As home use health monitoring equipments going gone pretty much easily from stores as people turn to portable health monitoring devices to check themselves, Samsung is also improving and added features for its smartwatch which now can read your blood pressure.

Just recently, Samsung officially launched its Samsung Health Monitor app in South Korea after getting its clearance from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) in the said country. What this means is that, the new Health Monitor app paired with a compatible wearable device can reliably tell the user’s blood pressure which can be used to monitor them on the fly and even share the results with their doctors for better medical intervention.
The Samsung Health Monitor app currently supports the Galaxy Watch Active2 to monitor the wearer’s blood pressure but before that, it needs to be calibrated with a traditional blood pressure cuff and its data be ported manually to the app and then let the Galaxy Watch Active2 run the test using the calibration data as bases

What the Galaxy Watch Active2 uses to monitor blood pressure is through a pulse wave analysis collected by the watch built-in sensors. The data from the smartwatch are then sync to the Samsung Health Monitor app from which you could then monitor your blood pressure by days, weeks or months. The data collected by the app can also be shared with your doctor if needed.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 doesn’t include the Samsung Health Monitor app on the device but a few taps to update the watch should be able to solve that problem. Apart from Blood Pressure monitoring, Samsung is also working to enable electrocardiogram (ECG) feature on the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 which according to Samsung should be ready by the third quarter of 2020.
