Samsung includes the GALAXY S5 Mini, GALAXY Alpha and GALAXY Note II to the Android 5.0.1 upgrade roadmap
Samsung is undoubtedly been quite busy lately as they work on bringing the GALAXY S6 out of the closet while providing support for older devices. Since Google released Android 5.0 Lollipop, Samsung users were eagerly awaiting for the latest Android version available for their devices, though some managed to flash their handsets with unsupported variant of Android 5.0 or most of them are getting the vanilla version of the OS. Still majority of users are waiting for Samsung to release the official Android 5.0.x ROM for their handsets from the manufacturer. And shortly after, Samsung gradually began releasing updates for existing GALAXY devices with most of them being the latest and recently released flagship devices.
While these updates are rolling out, Samsung also promised to bring the update to the short-lived GALAXY Alpha which just went out last year and recently provides a roadmap for the latest GALAXY A series of devices to received the Android 5.0 update as well. With the latter announcement getting forward, users felt that Samsung might have forgotten the GALAXY Alpha despite been just new in the market. Until recently, new confirmation from one of the company’s branch in Finland in which according to Samsung’s Finnish website, the GALAXY Alpha is being listed as one of Samsung’s devices to receive the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update. Not only that, the site also enlisted the two-year old GALAXY Note 2 and last year’s compact variant of the company’s flagship the GALAXY S5 Mini.
Despite the listings and another confirmation from reputable sources, users are still skeptical regarding the developments as the Korean tech giant seems to be silent about the release of such updates. Rumors suggest that the GALAXY S5 Mini will have the update as early as the second quarter of the year and with some analyst taken note on the matter, the update might just be around the corner in no time. As for the GALAXY Alpha and the GALAXY Note II, our sources suggest that the update will probably becomes available later in 2015. Possible release dates for the update? well we don’t know but we’ll keep an eye on it.
