We’re only a few weeks away from the launch of Samsung’s latest flagship handsets the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge in the Philippines. While everyone is anticipating for the handsets arrival in the local market, words are spreading that the upcoming handsets will be priced much higher that previously anticipated.
The Galaxy S6 is the standard version of the two upcoming devices and is expected to be the main seller of the two new flagships. Also, the Galaxy S6 that will be available in the Philippines is said to support dual-SIM capabilities with one SIM supporting 4G/LTE and will be available mainly in two variations. So the pricing as follows:
32 GB Variant : Php 35,990.00
64 GB Variant : Php 41,990.00
The Galaxy S6 edge on the other hand is the company’s latest handset to feature a curved screen and will be Samsung’s new market player. As expected, the Galaxy S6 edge will have a significantly higher price than the regular Galaxy S6 and like the latter, it will also be available in two storage variants locally:
32 GB Variant : Php 41,990.00
64 GB Variant : Php 47,990.00
The new Samsung flagship device will launch this coming April 18 in the Philippines. There’s also a 128 GB variant available in other markets for both flagship handsets but as we’ve already known earlier, it wont be making an appearance in the local market during the launch. But given the price points of the two handsets, a 128 GB variant is unlikely to gain grounds in the local scene.
