Samsung Galaxy Note 7R certified by the FCC, coming to South Korea with smaller battery and Nougat
Samsung is ready to unleash the Galaxy Note 7R as the handset has been approved and certified by FCC with model numbers: SM-N935S, SM-N935K and SM-N935L. Though the certification that it applied for is stateside, the refurbished Galaxy Note 7R units are not coming in the US. These model numbers simply corresponds to the South Korean telecom company that will be offering the device to its customers namely: KT Telecom, KT and LG U+ respectively. The company is also in talks with representatives from other regions where they could sell these devices.
After a thorough investigation to the early demise of Samsung’s 2016 flagship, they found out that it was indeed the battery as the culprit. With that said, the Galaxy Note 7R’s re-entry into the market will include some minor changes in the package which is primarily with the battery that comes bundled with.
For the Galaxy Note 7R, the handset will have a 3200 mAh battery pack a bit smaller from the original but that should be fine. Another thing to note is that, it comes with Android 7.0 (Nougat). The original Galaxy Note 7 came with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and bundling the latest version of Android should at least give this beast the upgrade it deserves. Apart from these two mentioned changes, the Galaxy Note 7R is basically everything else the Galaxy Note 7 used to be.
