Quality photos from smartphones is the top demand for customers today. We’ve seen numerous devices with great imaging capabilities but as that might sound true with every smartphone main cameras. How about Selfies?

Selfie’s used to dominate the mobile imaging realm awhile back but since the advent of dual cameras and up to today multiple camera setups, Selfie’s takes the second row in terms of importance and market relevance. The new Samsung Galaxy A80 however may reignite that pasion for Selfie’s that customers used to loved.

The latest Galaxy A80 from Samsung does come with an impressive main camera module. It houses a 48 Megapixel primary sensor with an f/2.0 lens paired with an 8 Megapixel secondary sensor ultra-wide angle lens featuring a 123° field of video. There’s also a Tof camera who’s in charge to take image depths seriously.

While on the front, there’s no camera holes on the front, the display is a full-sized 6.7-inch super AMOLED display with no notch, no punch hole whatsoever. There’s also an in-display fingerprint sensor which adds to the premium offering of the high-end devices for the mid-range market.

Now you’d ask, where the Selfie camera go? Samsung’s unique design for the Galaxy A80 comes in spring-loaded pop-up mechanism with a rotatable camera module. And that camera module is the same exact main camera module of the handset. It pops up and rotate the cameras upfront when you need to take a Selfie or take a Video of yourself or so.

Built for the “Era of Live”, It features the Galaxy S10’s Super Steady Mode for videos which takes Selfies mode than just still photos but super Selfie videos as well. With 48 Megapixel at your disposal, expect super impressive Selfies on the Galaxy A80

Given that the Galaxy A series is a mid-range lineup, don’t expect flagship chipset for now. The Galaxy A80 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset, it’s almost as powerful as Qualcomms top of the line SoC though so it that regard, it’s a performer nonetheless.

The handset is configured with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There’s no microSD slot for memory expansion which is unfortunate for such a promising device. Anyway, it runs Android 9 Pie with Samsung’s new One UI out of the box.

It runs on a 3700 mAh embedded battery and supports 25W Super Fast Charging capabilities.

The new Galaxy A80 is built with a full metal frame and a curved glass on both the front and back. It will be available a number of color options including: Phantom Black, Angel Gold and Ghost White. The two latter color options changes their colors a bit depending on the light reflections.

The Samsung Galaxy A80 will retail at €649 and will hit the store shelves by May 29.
