Earlier, we saw the Galaxy J7+ leaked ahead of its launch down the pipe. Well, Samsung now made this variant of the Galaxy J7 official at least in Thailand. And like the Note8, the new handset also has a dual camera sensor on the back but with a 13 Megapixel sensor coupled to a 5 Megapixel depth focusing camera. Besides the obvious difference from all other Galaxy J7 devices, the Galaxy J7+ offers the same functionality on most points.

Built basically with the same dimensions as all other 2017 Galaxy J7 series devices, The Galaxy J7+ comes with a 5.5-inch super AMOLED display in full-HD. One that puts it apart from its sibling though is its MediaTek P20 chipset under the hood running at 2.39GHz. But the RAM on the J7+ is at 4GB while the storage is in 32GB. Users that requires more than that can pop-in up to 256GB of microSD card in case the need kicks in.

The plus on the Galaxy J7+ is primarily the camera and like what we’ve mentioned earlier, the device gets twice the shooting power compared to its siblings and basically from all other Samsung devices out there except for the Galaxy Note8 obviously that came first with it.

Now the Galaxy J7+ main camera setup combines at 13 Megapixel main sensor with an f/1.7 Aperture lens and a 5 Megapixel secondary camera with an f/1.9 Aperture lens. Both working together would enable users to take shots with bokeh effect with Samsung’s Live Portrait mode feature. On the front, there’s a 16 Megapixel Selfie camera also with a bright f/1.9 Aperture lens as well with a dedicated front-facing LED flash for better self-portrait shots and help in high-quality video calls even in a not so brightly lit environments.

It features an Always On display, Multi-Window and Pop-up Window support and Secure Folder. It comes with a Bixby button on the side and a fingerprint sensor on the home button, at least Galaxy J7+ owners won’t have to accidentally smudge the camera lens just to unlock their device. As for the battery, the new handset comes with a rather smaller battery pack with only 3000 mAh to through the day. We guess it has to make sacrifices to generally incorporate another feature into the device, but we guess that’s the reality of it as it seems not everyone will get what they’re supposed to deserve.

So the Galaxy J7+ is currently exclusive in Thailand and it’s priced at THB 12,900 or around 19.500Php ($390) with a free Samsung U-Flex wireless stereo headset. Currently the handset is available for pre-order from today up to September 17 from which the handset will go on sale. Samsung haven’t released any details for the Galaxy J7+ from going out to other markets but we’re hoping that they do so.
