To make everything clear, Samsung finally made the Galaxy On5 and the Galaxy On7 official but instead of launching the device first in India where the Galaxy On5 was leaked on its website a few days ago, the Korean tech firm launched the handsets in China. And as we’ve already been told in the leaks, the two handsets are entry-level devices which follows the same design schemes from the Galaxy A series. Unlike the A series though, these two new handsets are all made out of plastic with a faux-leather back cover with an unprecedented thin frames and bezels as the Korean manufacturer claims.

The leather of the pack is the new Galaxy On7 and it features a large 5.5-inch phablet-sized display with 720p resolution, unlike most of the company’s smartphone devices the Galaxy On7 includes a TFT panel which presumably one of the reasons of its lower price. Running on the entry-level phablet is a Quad-core 1.2 GHz processor coupled with 1.5 GB of RAM. It comes with a total of 8 GB internal storage space leaving users with no more than 4.9 GB free. However the handset supports microSD cards with capacities of up to 128 GB to alleviate the shortcoming. It includes an 8 Megapixel camera on the back assisted by an LED flash and a 5 Megapixel shooter on the front designed for Selfies and high-quality video calls.

What makes the Galaxy On7 great is that it supports 4G/LTE which gives users the power to access high-speed wireless internet connections, it still supports 3G/HSPA+ and 2G/GSM wireless networks in case you’re beyond the service area where 4G network is available. More with connectivity options, the handset supports the usual including Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS with A-GPS  -GLONASS and Beidou support and microUSB 2.0.

The handset boots Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) with Samsung’s Milk Music out of the box and is powered by a 3000 mAh battery with an estimated standby time of 349 hours. The handset measures 151.8 x 77.5 x 8.2mm and weighs 172 grams and will be available in either White or Gold color options.

The Galaxy On5 which was leaked a few days ago is the smaller variant in the series with a 5.0-inch TFT display but has the same 720p resolution. It runs on Exynos 3475 SoC which has a Quad-core Cortex-A53 processor running at 1.2 GHz with Mali-T720 GPU, it also sport 1.5 GB of RAM and the same 8 GB of internal storage space. Like the Galaxy On7, users of the Galaxy On5 will also be left with 4.9 GB of user memory but comes with a microSD card slot which supports up to 128 GB in capacity.

The Galaxy On5 also supports 4G/LTE connectivity in addition to 3G/HSPA+ and 2G/GSM wireless connection support. It also comes with standard connectivity support including Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS with A-GPS – GLONASS and Beidou support and a microUSB 2.0 port.

The handset is powered by a 2600 mAh battery and is driven runs Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) along with a pre-installed Samsung Milk Music out of the box.

The two new handsets will be available for purchase in China pretty soon but Samsung hasn’t revealed the prices of these devices yet so we’re guessing to be around $150 for the Galaxy On5 while its bigger sibling the Galaxy On7 would cost around $200.
