Rumors: Meizu is working with Nokia for an alleged MX4 Supreme device

There were rumors a few months ago that Meizu will be teaming up with Nokia to release a new Android smartphone codenamed the MX4 Supreme but it was promptly debunked by Li Nan Meizu’s Vice President of Science and Technology and was then forgotten until today. Popular tipster @Ubuntu Team has just posted the image poster (above) on its Weibo account which brings the old rumors back to life.

From one given point of view, it seems that the old rumors just refused to die out and it now making things more clearly shown as it not only involves two separate company names but also a significant product that both companies have. For a brief guide to the idea, the images seems to suggest that Nokia would be responsible for the alleged MX4 Supreme’s hardware and might even be the software as well or it could be that Meizu would take charge of the software. It quite unclear as to what role will these two companies would have with their alleged teaming up.

The image also seems to suggest that the alleged MX4 Supreme would combine prominent technologies from both the Meizu MX4 and the Nokia Lumia 1030 and if the rumors turns up right, then we might be able to see a smartphone with the touch and feel of Meizu’s MX4 flagship devices with the underlying technologies found on the Lumia 1030 device and the one thing that’s more than prominent enough with the Lumia 1030 is the undoubtedly superior PureView camera sensor on its back.

Remember that Nokia sold its mobile division to Microsoft which also grants Microsoft to utilize dozens of Nokia’s patents which includes the right to use the technology and expertise in the field of mobile communication from Nokia’s mobile division. The Microsoft deal also prohibits Nokia from creating and launching a product that would go head-to-head with Microsoft’s mobile devices until 2016. With that course of development, the only way for Nokia to go through with it is to possibly team up with other companies and it looks like that’s exactly the rumors are suggesting.
