Prestigio smartphone devices now available in the Philippines

You’ve been pretty much acquainted with dozens of brands in the electronic market but did you know that their still dozens and hundreds more small brands of smartphones and tablets that offers devices with almost the same specs and build quality from our other known brands. One of which is the new Prestigio brand, a new comer in the Philippines that originates in Cyprus.

The brand offers a number of devices sporting either Windows or Android operating system giving customers the choose of environment to stay and with that they bring their devices with specs that will allow the underlying OS runs smoothly. It will be competing with the other locally branded devices in the Philippine market and hopes to see Filipino customers embrace their products.


But getting a Prestigio device though means that you’ll have to pay a few extras if you want to opt for something foreign. Like their Multiphone 5508 which looks more like the Cherry Mobile Flare S2 which goes for 13,099.00 but you’ll get a higher resolution camera with 13 Megapixel sensor on the back, a 5 Megapixel selfie shooter on the front, 5-inch IPS display with DragonTrail glass, Dual-SIM capabilities together with standard connectivity features including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS. The phone is powered by a 1.7 GHz 8-core processor with 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. It runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with 2300 mAh Li-Ion battery.


Another device that comes with the new Prestigio brand is their Windows-based MultiPhone 8500 DUO and runs the latest Windows Phone 8.1 operating system. This is powered by a 4-core 1.2 GHz processor with 1 GB or RAM and 8 GB of internal storage with a microSD slot that supports up to 32 GB of microSD cards. This also comes with a 5-inch IPS display but is laminated by Gorilla Glass 3. It goes with an 8 Megapixel main camera and a little modest 2 Megapixel on the front. It also comes in Dual-SIM configuration and has the standard connectivity features that includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. Like our own locally branded Windows Phone in the market, the MultiPhone 8500 DUO comes with a seemingly smaller 2000 mAh Li-Ion battery and is priced at 9,099.00 Php.

While these two devices mentioned are launched during the unveiling of the brand in the country, Prestigio is also preparing to launch their upcoming Grace X7 smartphone which is said to feature a 5-inch IPS LCD display with Gorilla Glass 3, a Octa-core processor and a pair of 13 Megapixel main camera and 5 Megapixel front cam for just under 10K. If you want to get one yourself, these Prestigio smartphones are currently available through online store Lazada but we could expect to see these device on our local stores in the following months so keep and eye on them as they make their presence more visible in the local scene.
