Our COVID-19 recoveries have crossed 10,000 but new cases are still high
The Department of Health (DOH) released COVID-19 Daily Bulletin No. 108 for June 30, 2020 at 4:00 PM. This bulletin reports a total of 1,080 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 for the day with details down below:
Fresh Cases: 858 (NCR: 158 / Region 7: 430 / Others: 270)
Late Cases: 222 (NCR: 45 / Region 7: 38 / Others: 139)
With these numbers together with yesterday’s figure, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country jumps to 37,514 with a Death toll of 1,266 after 11 newly reported deaths were added.
This bulletin also reports 277 new recoveries, which pushes our total number of recoveries to 10,233.

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 as a Pandemic on March 03, 2020 which started in Wuhan, China. The disease is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome – coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) with a Flu like symptoms such as Fever, Cough, Colds and in more severe cases Difficulty in Breathing.
Pharmaceuticals around the world are actively engaged in clinical research, testing and trials for vaccines to eradicate the COVID-19 virus and to conclude their efficacy and effectiveness. As the world awaits for a vaccine for COVID-19, the only way to protect ourselves from getting infected is to practise proper and frequent handwashing, avoid touching our face, mouth, nose and eyes. Our health experts as well as the government urged everyone to wear a suitable and effective face mask as often as possible and when outside of our homes.
