When Huawei was first banned from using Google-powered services, it shocked everyone and led to the idea that companies—especially those from China—could face their own “Huawei moment.” This possibility prompted companies reliant on American-branded services to seek alternatives in order to stay competitive.

Over the years, Huawei developed its own platform, HarmonyOS, which helped the company stay afloat. The rumors suggest that Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 could lay the foundation for this collaboration. However, there are no details yet on whether this platform will follow Huawei’s approach with HarmonyOS, which completely abandoned Android app compatibility.
