Oppo’s new Joy 3 packs Dual-SIM, Color OS and premium build quality

Even on a tight budget, Oppo can still provide a decent device for you and still get sense of a premium touch and feel of the new Oppo Joy 3. Without so much funfair, the new Oppo Joy 3 which is set to leap ahead of its predecessor is now listed on the company’s official website and should be pretty soon become available in the market.

Even being an entry-level device, Oppo still wraps the new handset in what seems to be a metallic-like strip of material that lines the sides of the handset. On the front is the 4.5-inch IPS LCD Display and houses a Quad-Core MediaTek processor running at 1.3 GHz and is paired with a Mali-400MP2 graphics chips together with 1 GB of RAM to handle the processing needs. Despite the surge of new devices with bigger built-in storage space inside them, unfortunately for Oppo, the Joy 3 only comes with a 4 GB of internal memory but this is augmented with a microSD slot to give more room for storing your memories and other important files that you could take along with you on your mobile device.

The new Joy 3 also puts mobile photography in mind and includes a fairly decent 5 Megapixel camera on the back which is also capable of taking HDR shots and high-resolution videos and images with a number of other imaging features that enhances your mobile photography session. The front is also equipped with a 2 Megapixel camera and features a wide-angle lens for the perfect selfie and gives a high-resolution image quality during video calls.

As always, smartphones wont be a phone at all without their primary purpose, to communicate and make connections. The new Oppo Joy 3 supports Dual-SIM capabilities which lessens your frequency of swapping out SIM cards if you have more that one of those in hand. While the handset supports 3G connectivity, only one of the SIM’s installed and it’s usually the first SIM slot for that matter to support 3G/HSPA+ connectivity while the second SIM slot mainly connects to the regular and widely used 2G/GSM wireless network.

Aside from wireless network support, the Oppo Joy 3 also comes with a standard connectivity features including Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with GPS assist, USB 2.0 support through microUSB and support for USB On-The-Go (OTG) which is be handy when connecting other USB enabled peripheral devices including mouse, keyboards and even flash drives.

The new Joy 3 runs primarily on a 2000 mAh Li-Po battery which can also be removed and replaced with  other higher capacity battery packs so long as they’re compatible with the handset. Driving the Joy 3 the company’s ColorOS 2.0 based on the good old but reliable Android 4.4 KitKat. Though the handset has been officially posted the handset on their website, Oppo is yet to unveil the official price or when the handset becomes available.
