OPPO R11 and R11 Plus goes official with dual cameras and Snapdragon 660

OPPO officially announced the new R11 and R11 Plus. Both of these handsets boasts dual cameras and a hefty 20 Megapixel Selfie camera. Unlike the F3’s, the R11’s dual camera modules faces the back instead of the front but despite the orientations of these their camera’s the new R11 still has the same Selfie features that OPPO has in its new smartphone line of devices.

The R11 comes with a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen with a full-HD 1080p resolution. Power by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset, the handset comes with an Octa-core CPU that max’s out at 2.2GHz. This is then paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with microSD support of up to 256GB. Keeping the light on is a 2900 mAh battery with OPPO’s VOOC flash charging capabilities.

The pride of the new R11 lies within its imaging prowess, the new handset is equipped with a dual imaging sensor on the back composed of a primary 16 Megapixel sensor with a bright f/1.7 Aperture and supporting 20 Megapixel telephoto sensor with f/2.6 Aperture. There’s also a fast Phase Detection AF and is supported by a Dual-LED flash to assist in low-light conditions.

This setup also supports a 2x Optical zoom with its image production aided by Qualcomm Spectra ISP. The main sensors produces portrait modes and a bokeh effect through selective focusing that blurs out the background behind the object in focus.

For Selfie lovers, the R11 comes with a superb 20 Megapixel camera with f/2.0 Aperture dedicated for all the Selfie needs and offers a high-quality and high-resolution for video recording and video calls.

For videos, the R11 can take 4K videos from both the front and back imaging modules. Like all other smartphone devices, the R11 also supports video recording in 1080p videos or in 720p.

 

The R11 Plus on the other hand is the larger version of the handset and comes with a considerably large 6-inch screen. It’s the same AMOLED display as the standard R11 with the same resolution at 1080p despite the screen size.

Powered with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset with octa-core CPU, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. Since the R11 Plus comes with a plus screen size, OPPO generously equipped the handset with a large 4000 mAh battery to keep it running all through the day.

The rest of the specs come as standard for both devices as the share the same internals. features like a front mounted fingerprint sensor is there and its connectivity options supports Dual SIM slots with both slots capable of LTE connection. other connectivity features includes Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/gn, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS support. The R11 and R11 Plus however comes with microUSB 2.0 support despite the gaining popularity of USB-C at this point.

Both devices are encased in a metal unibody design with a concealed antenna lines and comes in a thin profile. For the R11, the handset is 6.8 mm in thickness and weighs around 150 grams, the R11 Plus is a bit thicker but still thinner than most of its counterparts at 7.8mm with a weight of around 188 grams.

Finally, the R11 and the R11 Plus runs on the latest Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) operating system with OPPO’s proprietary ColorOS on top.

The R11 is already available in China today while the R11 Plus is yet to be released. These two devices will be available in these color options: Black, Gold, Rose Gold.
