Oppo Find 7 now official, equipped with 13 Megapixel Camera sensor that takes 50 MP images

Oppo finally launched its highly anticipated smartphone this quarter the Find 7 in Beijing. Earlier leaks revealed that the device can take 50 Megapixel shots and this is somewhat real, in reality the smartphone itself is fitted with a 13 Megapixel Sony IMX214 CMOS sensor and with the power of software processing capabilities, the Oppo Find 7 can actually produce 50 Megapixel photos.
Oppo has focused on imaging capabilities with Find 7, the company has developed a software dubbed as Pure Image 2.0 that is responsible for bringing a 50 Megapixel “Super Zoom” image from Find 7’s 13 Megapixel sensor. What the software does is that it takes quick 10 consecutive shots of the scene and then picks out 4 best of those shots then combine them into one 50 Megapixel image. The results were quite surprising and promising according to our sources.
Our source had an opportunity to take actual photos with Oppo Find 7 and based on their result, it really is a big step in smartphone imaging, the images packs a highly detailed scenes that are actually viewable though distortion is noticeable it doesn’t compare to any high-end and imaging centric Android device to date. Even at 100x Zoom, images taken from Oppo Find 7 showed a highly detailed and composed images as seen on the images below.
Aside from being a 50 Megapixel shooter, the Find 7 also comes with 4K video recording capabilities that runs at 30 fps. It could also take slow-motion videos at 100 fps, HDR-capable GIF image creation and even RAW support. Some of these features is also supported on its front facing camera which is a beefier 5 Megapixel sensor.

The new Oppo find 7 comes in two variants, its modest offering the Find 7a or (Find 7 lite in China) is equipped with a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 1080p display and a 2,800 mAh battery. On the other hand, the Find 7 without the “a” designation on its name is a more premium from the two variants and is equipped with a a more powerful processor which is a Snapdragon 801 CPU running at 2.5 GHz, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage space a Quad-HD display, a more juicier 3,000 mAh battery and a carbon fiber textured back cover.

Despite the difference between the two variants, both devices are identically the same and is equipped with a rather the same features for the rest of its internals. Features such as Corning Gorilla Glass 3, memory expansion via microSD cards supporting up to 128GB capacities, microSIM slot and LTE radios except for devices bound for indonesia which on offers 3G, a pulsating light at the bottom on its chin, MaxxAudio plus Dirac HD audio enhancement and “VOOC” for rapid charging. With “VOOC”, the device can charge its battery from 0 to 75 per cent in half an hour without frying the device thanks to its 5 layers of thermal protective coating and a titanium-aluminum alloy frame in a nano-injection molding that would help dissipate heat.

The new Oppo Find 7 will come out of the box with Color OS 1.2 a cutom ROM based on Android 4.3 and comes with features already found on Oppo N1. Though the N1 is fully supported by Cyanogenmod, there have been no information regarding Cyanogenmod collaboration is taking any shape to support the Oppo Find 7.

The Find 7a is up for pre-order at 2,998 Yuan and is due on mid-April and the more premium Find 7 in June for about 3,498 Yuan. Oppo CEO Tony Chen will also personally sell some Find 7 devices as an early treat tomorrow for those who are in Beijing.
