OnePlus may have already resolved most of the quirks from its previous flagship with the release of the OnePlus 7 but it doesn’t end there. Together with the OnePlus 7, the company also introduced the new OnePlus 7 Pro the company’s true flagship killer.

Since the early days of OnePlus, the company puts out a device twice a year in response to the usual device cycle from manufacturers. As the trend turns, OnePlus also adopted the new marketing strategy putting out not just one variant of its flagship device.

The OnePlus 7 Pro proves to be the right device to be called the flagship killer with its killer specs and the fact basically is that it’s one of the most powerful Android device to date.

We’ll head over to the display as our start point. The 7 Pro display is deemed as one of the best in the market. OnePlus calls it Fluid AMOLED which is a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with QHD+ resolution. Not only that, it also features a 90Hz refresh rate and render HDR10+ colors. Together with OnePlus fast and smooth user-interface, you needs a dedicated gaming device when the 7 Pro can does just everything a gaming device could do?

What powers the new OnePlus 7 Pro is the Snapdragon 855 from Qualcomm, it doesn’t need a proper introduction anymore as SD855 is pretty well-known on top-end devices but the good thing about the OnePlus 7 Pro is that it’s equipped with a 10-layer vapor chamber to keep the device temperature down to a minimum. The handset will come in various configurations with RAM starting at 6GB and up to 12GB and storage from 128GB up to 256GB. Even great news is the fact that the OnePlus 7 Pro is the first smartphone in the market that uses the latest generation UFS 3.0 which is 78% faster than UFS 2.1.

Going for photography. OnePlus has always given their devices with top-notch imaging hardware and for the new 7 Pro, it continues that tradition and for the first time on OnePlus, the 7 Pro features a triple camera system and a pop-up Selfie camera on the front.

Talking about Selfies, the new Pop-up camera on the OnePlus 7 Pro houses a 16 Megapixel sensor and is acted by a mechanized system and tested more than 300,000 cycles. It also uses the handset’s built-in accelerometer to detect drops and closes the pop-up camera in a fraction of a second.

Going to the back, it’s OnePlus first triple camera setup. The module includes a 48 Megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor with a bright f/1.6 Aperture lens, OIS and EIS combined. It comes with the new UltraShot feature that enables HDR+ that captures 4x light from the surroundings and a Super Resolution feature.

There’s 8 Megapixel sensor with a Telephoto lens that zooms 3X. It also has OIS and a f/2.4 Aperture lens. And then you’ll have a 16 Megapixel sensor with a 117-degree wide-angle lens to complete the triple camera setup.

Feature-wise, the OnePlus 7 Pro has a lot and that includes an in-display fingerprint scanner with an improved larger 3rd generation sensor and a new scanning assembly and boasts faster unlock times.

It also has stereo speakers in collaboration with Dolby. like its predecessor, it doesn’t include a 3.5mm headphone jack but OnePlus has new and improved Bullets Wireless 2 headphones that supports AptX HD and fast charging.

All these features are not without a proper power supply. For the OnePlus 7, it comes with a large 4000 mAh battery built-in and supports the new Warp Charge 30 (5V/6A) that charges the battery in no time. The new Warp Charge feature from OnePlus also has the ability to control the temperature while charging, so using it while hooked up to the wall has no problem.

The handset is made from a full-metal Aluminum frame and a Gorilla Glass 5 front and back. Despite the design though, the new OnePlus 7 doesn’t feature wireless charging.

Colors available for the handset includes the new Nebula Blue which has a color gradient and frosted finish then a mirror Gray and Almond, both with glossy and mirror finish.

Prices for the new OnePlus 7 Pro are as follows:

  • 6GB/128GB (Mirror Gray) = $670
