The eventual successor to the Nokia 7 Plus which by the way still hot today was finally revealed: the Nokia X7 – That is when you are in China, but this mid-range beast is anticipated to become the Nokia 7.1 Plus when it goes international.

That said, the Nokia X7 has a larger display compared to the Nokia 7 Plus at 6.18-inches, however it sport a notch on top which primarily housed its front-facing camera and earpiece. It features a 1080p+ or commonly known as Full-HD+ resolution as a result of the notch. It also has a bright 500nits of brightness, 1,500:1 contrast ratio with 96% color gamut and there’s DCI-P3 support.

The handset is the second Nokia device to date to feature Nokia’s PureDisplay technology that features real-time conversion of SDR to HDR video playback.

Like the Nokia 7 Plus, The Nokia X7 comes with main dual camera and includes a 12 Megapixel Sony IMX363 primary sensor with 1.4µm pixel size. It offers a bright f/1.8 Aperture and has Optical Image Stabilization, EIS and Dual Pixel AutoFocus technology.

The secondary camera is a 13 Megapixel depth sensor with fixed focus f/2.4 Aperture lens. Something that we it missed from the Nokia 7 Plus and hopefully with return on its international variant. But of course, the Zeiss branded lens are there so you can be sure that you’ll get the proper Nokia treatment with each photo taken from the device.

On the front where there is the notch is a 20 Megapixel shooter which takes great Selfies with its pixel binding technique, you can be sure that your photos are still in top shape even in challenging scenarios. And most importantly is the underlying Nokia Camera software which is assisted by AI to detect different scenes and provide AI bokeh effect thanks to its powerful processor.

Underneath the new and modern shell of the Nokia X7, is a powerful Snapdragon 710 SoC with 8-cores of CPU and comes bundled with Adreno 616 graphics processing unit. It supports either 4GB or 6GB of RAM with 64GB or 128GB of storage respectively.

The Nokia X7 has a 3500mAh embedded battery and comes with an 18W fast charger that charges the battery from zero to 50 per cent in just 30 minutes through its wired USB-C interface. Unfortunately there’s no wireless charging which could be a deal breaker for such wonderful device.

The Nokia X7 supports Dual SIM capabilities and is now supports VoLTE out of the box. While some devices are ditching the 3.5mm Audio jack, the Nokia X7 still comes with it and is something a good sight to see even when other are trying to forget them.

So there’s the new Nokia X7. They are available in these colors: Dark Blue, Night Red, Magic Night Silver, Night Black with a price that starts at CNY 1,700 for the 4GB/64GB variant, then CNY 2,000 for the 6GB/64GB version and finally CNY 2,500 for its top-spec’d kind with 6GB/128GB configuration.
