Nokia Lumia 620 finally gets the Lumia Black update – Microsoft WP8 GDR3 combo
Users have been wondering if this affordable device from Nokia ever gets the latest update for Windows Phone 8. Microsoft has already rolled out its GDR3 update since last year and Nokia released the Lumia Black update for Lumia devices since the beginning of 2014 with little info regarding its release to lower end Lumia devices.
Users of Lumia 620 can now breath easy as Nokia finally gives the handset a new breath of Life with the latest Lumia Black update for the handset. Finland and Netherlands gets the first taste of the new update and other markets will follow after.
The Lumia Black update will bring new and updated features to Lumia 620 in addition to the latest GDR 3 update for Windows Phone 8 from Microsoft. Some of the notable features that comes with the update is the rotation lock, Bluetooth 4.0 LE support, and the ability to close individual apps straight from the task switcher. Other features that comes straight from Nokia is the updated Glance screen, the new Drive Mode and the new Camera App. Since the Lumia 620 only comes with 512 MB of RAM, users will not be able to install Nokia Beamer and Nokia Refocus app as these apps requires at least 1 GB RAM to run.
The new update will also bring new and under the hood enhancements and performance boost and a better camera algorithms for better photographic results.
The Lumia 620 will perform auto update checks every now and then but user who are eager enough to receive the new update they can manually check for update from the Nokia servers to check if the Lumia Black update is already available for their device.
