Nokia 5 get’s September security patch for Android ahead from Google Pixel and Nexus devices
Usually, when Google comes out with a new monthly maintenance and security patch for Android, it’s the Pixel and Nexus devices that gets them first but with September security patch, it’s the Nokia 5 from HMD Global takes the crown as the first device to get first on the line.

The update will take up 140MB of storage and it’s one example of advantage for having a nearly stock Android experience. Despite the prompt update, the Nokia 5 still runs on Android 7.1.1 while Android 7.1.2 is openly available.
What’s more appealing to the news is that how HMD Global takes it promise for prompt updates as they become available more seriously and given the fact the Android 8.0 (Oreo) is already available for manufacturers to tune and optimize the OS for their respective devices, it’s likely that in the next few months or so, Nokia branded device will also get the first hand to update their devices to the latest Android version to date.
