New Samsung Galaxy C series with a metallic build is on the way, with 5.2-inch display, Snapdragon 617 SoC and 4 GB of RAM

Samsung is expected to launch a new smartphone series this year with the new Samsung Galaxy C, though information about the new series are scarce at the moment but a number of reports already suggests that it will dbut with a Samsung SM-C5000 that is said to feature a 5.2-inch display.

Evidence of the alleged device has been given some light thanks to an import listing on Indian customs database Zauba. Apart from SM-C5000, the listing also revealed another device in the series baring the code SM-C7000.

Though Samsung has kept its lips sealed regarding this information, a GeekBench result points to convincing evidence that the new Galaxy C series is on the way and the devicebeing tested isa SM-C5000 device made by Samsung.

The benchmarking results gave us a glimpse of what could be the new C series has in store for us. The SM-C5000 in particular comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 SoC with 8-core CPU running at 1.52 GHz and an Adreno 405 GPU. It also comes with 4 GB of RAM and will be running Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) out of the box.

New reports about the expected new handset also adds more bits regarding the mysterious handset. With no reference design we could gather at the moment, it would be safe to suggest that it should follow Samsung’s new design language and the report suggests that it will have a metallic build which reminds us of the Galaxy A series but more premium.

Still information, about the alleged handset isn’t enough for us to say more about the handset but a per rumor suggests, the handset will be exclusively available in China at launch but it shouldn’t be a surprise to see the new series on other regions as well.
