More recoveries recorded today, but COVID-19 cases in the country steadily increases

DOH released COVID-19 CASE BULLETIN #32 at 16:00H (4:00PM PST) on April 15, 2020.

The numbers speeds higher everyday as the Department of Health recorded 230 new COVID-19 cases in the country, this brought us to a total of 5,453 confirmed cases.

We also have new 14 deaths due to the disease and that totals to 349.

For the first time since our coverage, the Department of Health has recorded more number of recoveries over mortalities. Our latest recovery count has a total of 353 after 58 new recoveries were added today.

For Cebu City, as of April 15, 2020, The Cebu City government have confirmed 23 new COVID-19 cases with 21 of which are coming from the now lockdown Sitio Zapatera in Barangay Luz, 1 from Mambaling and 1 from Barangay Guadalupe.


COVID-19 was declared by World Health Organization (WHO) as a Pandemic on March 03, 2020 which started in Wuhan, China. The disease is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome – coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) with a Flu like symptoms such as Fever, Cough, Colds and in more severe cases Difficulty in Breathing.

There are no vaccines or direct cure for the disease at the moment and the only way to protect ourselves from getting infected is to practise proper and frequent handwashing, avoid touching our face, mouth, nose and eyes. Our health experts strongly suggests that we wear face masks as much as possible.
