Microsoft Surface Book 3: Familiar and even more powerful
Microsoft on Thursday announced the new Surface Book 3, a refreshed version of the company’s hybrid tablet/PC with a full-sized laptop keyboard and an detachable tablet display through a specialized, proprietary hinge design.
The Surface Book 3 retains the same design philosophy as its predecessor and one couldn’t tell them apart. Microsoft is focusing on performance for businesses and designers that requires enough power and tools to work on their projects. It also comes in two primary flavors, a 13.5-inch and in 15-inch variants.
The new Surface Book 3 is powered by the latest 10th generation Intel processors with the 13.5-inch variant to be powered by Intel Core i5’s while the 15-inch version runs on Intel Core-i7’s. As for its graphics, the choices are either an Integrated Intel IRIS Plus GPU or a dedicated graphics card from NVIDIA.
It also got a wide range of RAM configurations too from 8GB and up to 32GB. As for the storage, the Surface Book 3 uses one of the fastest SSD’s in the market. Depending on your choice, you could get a basic 256GB of internal storage for your device or go with a M.2 2280 in 1TB or 2TB.
For ports and connectivity, the Surface Book 3 is equipped with 2x USB-A, 1x USB-C with USB power delivery, 3.5mm headphone jack, Surface Connect Port, Full-sized SDXC card reader.
