Microsoft openly confirmed that all existing Windows Phone 8 devices will be upgraded into Windows 10 once it becomes available, that’s what happened after a customer ask Microsoft in a tweet whether they upgrade existing devices to Windows 10 or are they going to make the same mistake that they did with Windows 7.x, Microsoft responded openly to the tweet (shown below).

The news seems to give us Lumia owners a new sense of hope for our aging Lumia Windows Phone 8 devices. Microsoft has learned from its biggest mistake when they left out Windows Phone 7 owners after they announced that Windows Phone 8 won’t be supporting any devices equipped with Windows Phone 7.x, Microsoft blamed the changes in the Kernel on Windows Phone 8 that made it incompatible with Windows Phone 7. Windows 10 on the other hand comes with little changes and basically on the same kernel as Windows Phone 8, so shifting from the current OS to Windows 10 won’t be as rough as we had 2 years ago.

Windows 10 and its mobile variant is still under development at Microsoft and haven’t released any depth information regarding the operating system. The Redmond giant is anticipated to debut and shipped the new OS later in 2015, so there are more room for improvements, further changes and later updates.
