Want to jump into Windows 10 but tight on the budget, then the new Lumia 550 is here to get you started with Microsoft’s latest Windows 10 Mobile. Announced together with all the high-end devices at Microsoft Windows10devices event last Tuesday, the Lumia 550 is aimed at the mass market segment and an affordable price and mid-range specs.
The handset comes with a 4.7-inch 720p HD display and is driven by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 Quad-Core processor running at 1.1 GHz. It got 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of expandable mass storage with microSD card support of up to 2 TB. It has a 5 Megapixel main camera with Auto Focus, 2x zoom and LED flash while the front shooter is a 2 Megapixel camera for Selfie and high-resolution video calls
The Lumia 550 features a removable back cover which also means that users can remove and replace the battery which has a capacity of 2100 mAh and 7 hours of continuous video playback and a 28 days standby time.
For connectivity, the Lumia 550 supports LTE in addition to standard 3G and 2G wireless network through a single nano-SIM. Aside from over-the-air wireless connectivity, the Lumia 550 also support standard connectivity options that includes Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n, WiFi hotspot and support to WiFi calls. It also comes with bluetooth 4.1, USB 2.0 through microUSB.
