Microsoft Leaked Windows Threshold/TH ahead of September 30 event
A couple of days from now, Microsoft will unveil the next generation of Windows operating system. The company is also expected to start a technical preview of the OS right after the event but it seems someone from the camp is more than excited enough to reveal upcoming OS.
From Microsoft’s TechNet website, it looks like the company has prematurely introduced the next version of Windows at it came out as “Windows TH” as one of the Windows version currently supported on the website from its header menu as shown it the image above. The page also provides the Download button for the Technical Preview as well as a number of information regarding the new OS and links which currently are empty but soon will be functional when the company formally unveil the new Windows client.
Many believes that the next version of Windows will simply be called Windows 9, but if we take rumors into consideration, Microsoft is reportedly going away with the numerical hierarchy of naming convention and will eventually name the next Windows client into something else, much like what happened when the company unveiled Windows XP more than a decade ago.
Threshold or what might be, the “TH” may not be just a Codename of the upcoming Windows client but it might be the official name of the successor of Windows 8.1, but who knows? It’s only Microsoft and the September 30 event that will answer all our questions. The real question is: Will Windows codename: Threshold wins the heart of Windows XP and Windows 7 loyal users? will it take away the nightmares that plague desktop users of Windows 8?
Microsoft is expected to unveil the biggest announcement from the company on September 30, will news that the new Windows client will bring back the Start menu for desktop users and that the new Windows will dynamically detect the environment that it’s currently installed and intelligently provides the best experience and user interface for user where the environment is appropriate.
