
Microsoft has been rumored to release its Windows Phone 8 OS to OEM’s free of charge. Though not confirmed directly by Microsoft, two unnamed Indian based companies indeed confirmed such rumors as they are part of the new group of Windows Phone partners. One of those companies told Times of India that they are “not paying for license fees” with a unique specific agreement.
Microsoft has been strengthening its hold on the mobile market. Microsoft has an extensive program to help OEM’s to build great devices and utilize the Windows Phone’s full potential ensure manufacturers to follow key specific guidelines to provide a full WP user experience.

On the other news, Karbonn Mobiles a India based mobile phone manufacturer recently announced its first dual booting Android and Windows Phone 8 device. The device was announced during the MWC 2014 and is anticipated to launch sometime in June.
If rumors are true, the device will have Windows Phone 8.1 right out of the box and the latest Android OS version. If the end result of this experiment catches the masses, it could start a new breed of devices that seamlessly have 2 or more device operating system in them.
